History

La Pérouse was launched in 1959. It transported up to 1046 tons of crude and refined oil, providing a regular delivery service between Marseille, Lyon and Chalons sur Saône.

It was the fastest oil barge of its kind, with two DEUTZ engines and a total horse power of 1000 CV and a high-performance hull design..
After 34 years of non-stop service, La Pérouse went into well-earned retirement, undergoing substantial transformations between 2000 and 2005.

On September 12, 2005, LA PLATEFORME started its new career as an events venue!
